Quality and the environment2018-12-03T17:28:48+00:00
Wheat is a natural and renewable raw material. This is how nature provides us with an endless resource for developing functional, wheat-based products. We do everything we can to make the best possible use of this resource and protect our environment as we do it.

Passionate about wheat.

For 160 years, wheat has been the basis of all our work. For Crespel & Deiters, a core issue in everything we do is finding the best way to make use of the natural advantages of wheat and protect our environment. Certified high quality standards and sustainable activities mean that we can consistently ensure high efficiency for our products and the highest level of protection of our planet.

Reliable quality.

Crespel & Deiters‘ core promise for innovation is supported by the expertise, experience and professionalism that are manifested in the quality of all our processes and products. From the selection of the raw materials through to the control of handling processes and on to the delivery of the products, all of the process steps at Crespel & Deiters are analysed, tested and evaluated. The efficiency of our production processes guarantees the customer a quality in our products that always remains high. The quality assurance that takes place over the entire manufacturing process means that we can capture the natural fluctuations in the quality of the natural raw material and consistently create reliable products. Permanent product availability for customers is also ensured by structured processes and forward planning.

A high degree of environmental consciousness.

Due to the trend for increasing globalisation and the rising demand for resources, sustainable business activities represent a binding commitment for the future at Crespel & Deiters and, combined with the challenge for constant improvement and maximum efficiency, are a pillar for the continued success of the company.

Quality management.

In order to meet the needs and wishes of our customers, we are constantly working towards optimising our products and services and adapting to the challenges of application technology, science and regulatory issues.

These processes are guided and implemented by our quality management system in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard, as well as a prevention system and an HACCP system (specified in accordance with ISO 22000), to ensure the safety of the products for the food sector. Starting with the selection of the raw materials through to the control of handling processes and on to the delivery of the products, all of the process steps at Crespel & Deiters are analysed, tested and evaluated and the required intervention measures ensure that safe and high-quality products are manufactured.

In addition to product quality and safety, the availability of our products is also very important to our customers. Permanent product availability is ensured by Crespel & Deiters using a professional internal risk management system that in particular supports the implementation and regular updating of preventative measures to prevent and mitigate risks.

Environmental management.

Actions that are sustainable and environmentally responsible have been a core company objective from the very start for Crespel & Deiters. This is why in 2000 we implemented an environmental management system based on the standard ISO 14001 and in 2013 expanded to include an energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001. All environmental activities are scheduled, monitored and regularly reviewed under the provisions of this standard. Our engagement specifically targets the following aspects:

Water management

Over the past ten years, the consumption of fresh water has been reduced by more than half by introducing state-of-the-art technology and an efficient water recycling system.

Energy use

The thermal and electrical energy required for the processes involved in starch production is obtained with high efficiency from the natural gas used in a CHP system. The use of modern machinery and equipment as well as the continuous optimisation of all processes are the foundation of ongoing reductions in specific energy demands.

Waste

Avoidance is the most important aspect of the waste management system applied by all our employees. Unavoidable waste is collated separately and fed into recycling processes as far as possible. This means not only that waste is reduced, but that what remains is recovered for recycling.

Emissions

Air and water-borne emissions are many times below the statutory target values as the result of safe and efficient separation and cleaning systems.

Based on ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 14001 for the environment and ISO 22000 for food safety, Crespel & Deiters meets the highest requirements in terms of quality, environmental protection, sustainability, safety and social responsibility.
