As a member of our North American team, you will manage both sales order and supplier activities. In addition, you will support the expansion of our food business in North America.

The Crespel & Deiters Group is one of the leading manufacturers of wheat starches and wheat proteins in Europe. Approx. 370,000 tons of wheat are processed into wheat-based raw materials each year at our headquarters in Ibbenbüren, Germany, and subsequently developed into highly functional products by our brands.
 
C&D Corrugating & Paper is the brand of the Crespel & Deiters Group responsible for the development of wheat-starch based adhesive concepts for the corrugated board industry as well as speciality starches for the paper industry. C&D Corrugating & Paper supports die corrugated board industry with cost-efficient manufacturing of high-quality corrugated board.
 
Crespel & Deiters North America Inc. is the legal entity managing the brand C&D Corrugating & Paper in North America.

For our Order Management for Crespel & Deiters North America Inc. we are looking for an
 
                                           Office Administrator 

situated in the greater Chicago area.

In the Office Administrator role, you support the North American team’s operations by managing resources and operational processes effectively and efficiently to support sales and maximize overall profitability. You are a highly motivated and dynamic self-starter with strong interpersonal skills who enjoys working with the North American and German teams.
 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Process sales orders and provide customer service from receiving the order through to invoicing the customer
  • Work with internal and external customers to research and resolve order issues and inquiries
  • Support process engineers in achieving sales targets
  • Provide autonomous administrative support by organizing the office, optimizing procedures, handling administrative tasks
  • Maintain relationships with North American customers, answer customer and supplier calls and emails
  • Coordinate with German headquarters, North American process engineers, and North American customers as needed
  • Manage supplier relationships in North America
  • Validate supplier invoices
  • Monitor the supply chain
  • Monitor product stock levels 
  • Liaison with Accounting/tax advisor
  • Prepare qualified reports and/or presentations for management
  • Administer compliance related issues
  • Support the Crespel & Deiters Group in establishing a food brand in the US

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred, or Associate’s (AA) degree from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a customer service or supply chain role
  • Minimum of 3–6 years of experience in a comparable administrative support role
  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Microsoft Navision preferred but training will be provided
  • Fluent German written and verbal skills a real plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organizational structure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple demands
  • Professional approach in all aspects of business to external customers and internal colleagues
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to work in an international cross-functional team
