Together with our customers, we create functional wheat-based products which ensure greater efficiency, performance and quality in a wide range of sectors and industries.

The strength and versatility of nature.

As a sustainable raw material, wheat forms the basis of all our work. Created from sunlight, earth, water and seeds, wheat unites the combined forces of nature. This vitality and strength is demonstrated in each of our solutions. Solutions made from innovative ideas that serve the interests of our customers. It is our mission to use the opportunities provided by wheat to develop and improve them for our customers. This focus on what is most important is what has made Crespel & Deiters one of Europe‘s leading specialists in the separation of wheat and the refinement and processing of its constituent parts into customised products, creating added value for customers in various industries both in the food and non-food sectors when it comes to manufacturing their products.

Wheat is our basis for the development of high-performance products. In doing so we fully utilise the ingredients of the grain, making use of all its constituent parts. because each constituent part has its own properties and possible applications.

The wheat starch, for example, forms resistant, solid gels, is highly stable during processing and can be used in various ways in the food and non-food sectors.

Wheat gluten, the protein in wheat, is particularly important for its baking properties and also improves the nutritional quality of foods.

First, the wheat is ground. The wheat endosperm is then broken down into its constituent parts by adding fresh spring water and energy. This mixture is then sieved and centrifuged to obtain the wheat starches, proteins, fibres and extracts. The products obtained in this way are refined in further processing steps such as mixing, extrusion and modification into highly functional products customised for our customers.

Sustainable.

Wheat is a natural and renewable raw material. This is how nature provides us with endless resources for developing our variety of products. We do everything we can to make the best possible use of this resource and preserve our environment in the process. This is why highest standards and fixed rules apply regarding its provenance, sourcing and processing. More at Quality and Environment

Thanks to state-of-the-art technology and efficient water recycling, the use of fresh water, e.g. has been reduced by more than half within the past ten years. In addition to this, heat and electrical energy is generated from natural gas in a highly efficient and effective manner, thanks to the use of combined heat and power generation.

Efficiency.

Efficient use of the raw material is important. With the optimisation of production and machinery efficiency, we at the Crespel & Deiters corporate group utilise 99 % of the wheat grain.

Through the quality assurance that takes place throughout the entire manufacturing process, we are able to absorb the natural fluctuations in the quality of the natural raw material and create consistently reliable products.

Regional and without genetic engineering.

When it comes to producing our products, we only use EU wheat that is sourced at least 75 % from German cultivation. This ensures we can provide a reliable and sustainable supply of raw materials. A high share of regional wheat is very important to us, as it ensures that the transport routes and emissions remain as low as possible.

EU wheat is characterised by the fact that it is particularly rich in nutrients, such as high-quality amino acids, unsaturated fatty acids and fibre, as well as highly-digestible proteins, minerals, vitamins, and carbohydrates. This ensures an optimal basis for our functional and high-quality products. What is more, EU wheat is guaranteed GMO-free and can replace genetically-modified ingredients animal feed.
